Pros/Cons of running chkdsk in Windows
It is very important to note that chkdsk was designed to work with healthy hard drives only, and its primarily function was to fix bad sectors or other logical system errors only. If you have an older computer where your system is sluggish, freezing or out of space, please backup your data before executing a chkdsk command.
